Who we are

Our organisation formed in 1999 as Hospice at Home Volunteers and changed its name to Respite at Home Volunteers in 2015 and, since 1999, continues to provide free support in the community as a free and completely confidential service, together with all our sister groups in Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard.

We are on hand to help those who prefer to be cared for in their own homes. With the increased emphasis on care in the community, Respite at Home Volunteers is an integral part of the care.

The Volunteer Manager when asked, visits the family first to discuss their needs and then introduces a volunteer if appropriate. There is always close cooperation with any other professional service already involved.

'It's humbling to know that such a small act like helping a client fill in an application form can make such a huge difference to their lives. "
